According to a post in the Dunong Facebook, 鈥渢he collection reflects a shared commitment to examining the everyday and the overlooked, and to writing from the standpoint of being both a student and an active participant in the world beyond the classroom.鈥

鈥淐hallenging ang edisyong ito dahil maraming estudyante ang nagpasa na gustong maging bahagi ng D煤nong. Pagbati sa mga author at reviewer,鈥 said Dunong Co-Editor Jay-Ar M. Igno.

鈥淕ood quality ang articles. Kailangan na lang ng paggabay at further editing.

Ang pagsulat ng journal articles ay magandang simulain sa mga nagnanais pumasok sa academe bilang researchers o professors,鈥 he added.

Meanwhile, Dunong Co-Editor Maria Concepcion Loren Chua added, 鈥渢his journal represents the power of student research. The articles came from real curiosity, real lived experiences, and not necessarily from a place of authority. The articles show daily lives of students, giving response to simple questions. The journal also shows that students are not merely receivers of knowledge but also producers of knowledge.鈥

Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Jose Carlo G. de Pano acknowledged former VCSA Louise Jashil R. Sonido for this pioneering project. 鈥淭his is her baby. I am just continuing it,鈥 de Pano explained.

鈥淭he student contributors are fortunate because my first published article was after my undergraduate degree, while you already published your first article even before you finish your degree,鈥 de Pano said.

鈥淣ot all our research works or articles will be published. Journals like this make us learn more and teach us to be humble. Lastly, articles should be written in a language that is understandable, not highfalutin. My commitment is to continue publishing this journal until my term ends,鈥 de Pano said.

The 17 authors of the 13 research articles are: Cedrick G. Adorna, Dustin C. Francisco, Raiza M. Junio, and Ajalon Howell E. Sarto; Miguel Angelo F. Bactol; Reena Bianca Co and John Carlo Oboy; Alexandra Pauline Culla; John Michael Vincent S. De Pano; Jana Mykah Diaz; Joey K. Escueta; Andrieu Per Guilas; Kyle Gabriel R. Ranis; Christine Angeline Reig; Jericho Daniel DV. Igdanes; Ruth Luz; and Ken Russell M. Pe帽aflor.
